Gloucester North Hamlet was an extra-parochial area until 1858 and a civil parish from 1858 until 1885. It had no parish registers of its own. The area was to the west of Gloucester Cathedral.

Abolished 1885 to become parts of the parishes of Gloucester St. John the Baptist, Gloucester St. Nicholas, Gloucester St. Catherine, Wotton St. Mary Within.
