Basingstoke Rural District is a former council district which existed in Hampshire, England from 1894 until 1974 and comprised the parishes that surrounded the large town of Basingstoke. The district was merged with Basingstoke and the neighbouring Kingsclere and Whitchurch Rural District in 1974 to form the non-metropolitan district of Basingstoke and Deane District or Borough.

In 1932 there were a number of exchanges of civil parishes and parts of parishes with the neighbouring Basingstoke Municipal Borough, Kingsclere and Whitchurch Rural District and Hartley Wintney Rural District. Some mergers of smaller parishes occurred at the same time. The alterations that involved a whole civil parish will be noted below.
