Person talk:Samuel Brannan (1)

What If... [24 October 2013]

I'm sure we've all wondered "What if..." for those proverbial forks in the road we've faced in our life's paths. What if I had made a different decision; what if I had taken a alternative path; what if I had chosen to do otherwise or hadn't done such-n-such when I did, and on and on and on.

I was intrigued by a creatively thought-out and imaginately written blog and its comments by other contributors that I read on the unique Alternative History Discussion Board, and thought it should be posted here for others to read. Samuel Brannan faced many key historical and impactful decision points in his life, and this article focuses on those "what if" aspects of his life: what if he had made a different decision than the one he made, what if he had taken an alternative path than the one he took, what if he had done something different than the action he took during those key decision points. How may have life been different for him? How may have history treated him and his historical impact in the founding of California?

You can read the reconstructed article at "Giving Samuel Brannan "King of the Gold Rush" a Second Chance." Enjoy and feel free to contribute your own comments here or on the article's talk page.
