Ann Hobbs [16 October 2014]

Based on land records and a marriage license in Richmond County, Virginia, as reported in Victor Meador's Meador Families in Colonial America (pp 120 & ff), Richard Branham did not marry Ann Hobbs. Ann did not marry Richard, but she did marry a John Brantham, reportedly Richard's son. There were no children from the marriage.

The discrepancy in ages between Ann and John no doubt contribute to a belief that it must have been Richard rather than John whom Ann married. John married Rachel Webb, widow of Ann Hobbs' grandson, shortly after Ann died. The Ann mentioned in Richard's will may be a second wife, but she is not Ann Hobbs.--GayelKnott 01:02, 17 October 2014 (UTC)
