I'm very happy to see it's not from Kalamazoo. (Do I need to explain that?) --Pkeegstra 16:23, 5 June 2012 (EDT)

Well, perhaps... what happened in Kalamazoo? --Jennifer (JBS66) 16:30, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
It was the location of the mental hospital which served West Michigan. At least two from my family were patients there, one as per the link above. The reason I wondered if this was another such case is that he is not to be found in the expected place in the 1900 census. --Pkeegstra 16:31, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
Found him in the 1900 census :) He is indexed incorrectly (they used the surname of the person on the line directly above him) --Jennifer (JBS66) 17:54, 5 June 2012 (EDT)
That is amusing! I looked at that entry a half a dozen times, and each time wondered why Dena was living with this Klinger when her husband was still alive. And I never thought to call up the image to check the transcription. The error is curious, too, since the only substitution is for the surname on the first line. The surname repeated on successive lines is correct, and the "John W" in the first line is correct. I'll see if I can capture this in my transcription. --Pkeegstra 06:14, 6 June 2012 (EDT)

This weekend I read a thriller with a quote about observing: don't look for the "things" you expect there to be, but look for the unexpected, that's why she is so good ;-) (serendipity)
