My guess is that Zillah lied about her age to emigrate. The Bridgewater ship passenger list says she was 55 years old - when she should have been about 80. Or else there was another Zillah! The Bridgewater sailed from Liverpool into New York, landing 3 Aug 1855. On board was Richard, his daughter Eliza (named Elise), the Daniels family, and Zillah. They were in steerage, the cheap tickets. The Settling of Waterloo (From a History of Jackson County) dated 1874(?) Mrs. Zillah Willmore, mother of Mr. Thomas Willmore, is the oldest person (95 years old) now living in the Township. She has been over 70 years a widow. She emigrated from England less than 20 years since, and sews and knits yet very readily without glasses, and has the appearance of being only about 70 years of age. The name Zillah is from the Bible - Genesis 4. One of Cain's descendants, Lamech, married Zillah. From the Jackson Daily Citizen, Friday 28 Aprl 1876 The funeral of Mrs. Zillah Willmore will take place from the residence of her son, Thomas Willmore No. 92 Mason street, at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning. Woodland Cemetery, 2615 Francis St, has index cards for Mt. Evergreen cemetery. References
