1867-1889 - Was patron of the Tarnagulla Library & Mechanics Institute, Tarnagulla, Victoria.

1873 - William Hill Tucker was appointed Assistant Letter Carrier August 12th 1873, aged 16, at St Arnaud on 5/- a day, increased to 36/- a week a year later.

1876-1877 - William went to Horsham on 39/- a week on May 22nd 1876, given a rise to 40/6 on February 1st 1877 but resigned the same day.
