William is listed as paying chattel tax in Jackson County, OH in 1826 and 1828 along with brothers Henry, John, Mathias and George.

First settler in Pleasanton, Decatur County, Iowa.

William and his family were in Pleasant Plains Township, Decatur County, Iowa in the 1860 census.

Wilson [sic] Snook is listed in the 1870 U.S.Federal Census Mortality Schedule as dying in May of 1870. They also list his birthplace as Ohio, that he was 60 years old and that the cause of death had something to do with a horse. (could have been kicked by a horse, by the document was hard to read.) He was shown living in Hamilton Twp., Decatur Co., Iowa.

I think David Snook, son of Israel and Nancy, of Fairfleld, in Jefferson County, bought William’s land in 1875. This is according to John Snook of Corydon, Iowa.
