WILLIAM REICHARD was born on 15 Oct 1818 at Rowan County, North Carolina. He was second in a family of nine, five boys and four girls.

He married SARAH YOUNT, daughter of BENAJMIN YOUNT and ELIZABETH BURKHART, on 11 Aug 1844 at Davidson County, North Carolina, at the age of 25. They had eight children, five girls and three boys. He appeared on the census of 1850 at Davidson County, North Carolina. He and SARAH YOUNT appeared on the census of 1860 at Davidson County, North Carolina. The family moved to Indiana sometime between 1866 and 1869. Youngest daughter Bette is born in North Carolina in 1865 and they are in Indiana for the 1870 census. He and SARAH YOUNT appeared on the census of 1870 at Mill Creek Township, Fountain County, Indiana.

He died on 29 Mar 1893 at Fountain County, Indiana, at age 74.
