JOHN REICHARD was born on 15 Nov 1791 at Rowan County, North Carolina. John was the oldest of seven children, first five boys, then the two youngest were girls. The Newsome GED says he was born in 1791, the Emmanuel Church Cemetery reference says 1790.

He married ESTHER SULLIVAN, daughter of WILLIAM SULLIVAN and ELEANOR SMITH, on 15 Aug 1815 at Rowan County, North Carolina, at the age of 23. They were the parents of nine children, five boys and four girls. He was a successful Potter. He appeared on the census of 1840 at Davidson County, North Carolina. He and ESTHER SULLIVAN appeared on the census of 1850 at Davidson County, North Carolina. He was a Farmer in 1850. He was a Mechanic in 1860. He and ESTHER SULLIVAN appeared on the census of 1860 at Davidson County, North Carolina.

He died on 25 Aug 1863 at Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina, at age 71. He lived in North Carolina his entire life. He was buried in Emmanuel Cemetery at Lexington, Davidson County, North Carolina.
