Rites Held Today


William Berton Johnson, 83, a retired farmer of the Medina community died at his home Friday at 12:45 P.M. following a heart attack he suffered earlier in the morning.
 Mr. Johnson was born and reared in Madison County near Beech Bluff, Tenn. His parents were the late O.B. Johnson and Mrs. Caroline Crowder Johnson also of Beech Bluff.
 In 1900 he was married to Miss Mary Johnson of Madison County. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson have lived at their present home northwest of Medina for 40 years where they have been engaged in farming.
 Besides his widow he leaves two sons, Guy Johnson of near Medina, John Lee Johnson of Jackson; Mrs. Etta Johnson and Mrs. Nora Hill both of Jackson: five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
 Funeral services will be held at Chapel Hill Baptist Church today at 2:30, conducted by Wilbur Nelson and Walter Spain of the Assembly of God in Milan. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery north of Medina with Replogle Funeral Home in charge. The body will be at the funeral home until time for the services.
