Rites at Medina 


 Services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Johnson, 80, wife of the late William Berton Johnson, who died at the home of her son, Guy Johnson at 10:30 A.M. Thursday after a brief illness, will be at 2 P.M. Saturday at the Chapel Hill Baptist Church near Medina. The pastor Wilbur Nelson and the Rev. Walter Spain will officiate.

 Mrs. Johnson was born and reared in Madison County near Beech Bluff. Her parents were the late Ruben Johnson and Mrs. Sofarina [Sophina] Nobles Johnson also of Madison County. She and Mr. Johnson were married 65 years ago and for 40 years had made their home north of Medina where they engaged in farming. Since the death of Mr. Johnson in April of this year, Mrs. Johnson had made her home with her son Guy Johnson who lived near their home.

 She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.

 Besides her son Guy, she leaves another son, John Lee Johnson of Jackson, five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

 Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery with Replogle Funeral Home in charge.

 The body will be at the funeral home until time for the services.

 Pallbearers will be: James Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Calvin Johnson, Herman Nichols and Dixie Nichols.
