He was a Lt in the French Wars and then a Colonel in the Revolution.
He was discharged in 1755.
He was a Colonel in the local Dutchess County Militia 5th.
He signed his name Humfrey.
He settled close to the Wiltsie Family near the Sylvan Lake area.
He wrote his will Jan 29, 1787.
He left the home farm a long sword and a French gun to son Thomas. Silver mounted hanger to son James.Movabls to my wife Elizabeth. He mentions sons, John, Cornelius, William and Henry and daughter Elizabeth, Caty, heirs of Mary and daughter in law Salley wife of Thomas
