Obituary

Hosler- Mr. William Charles "Ivan" Hosler of Blackfalds, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on February 12, 1985 at the age of 64 years. Ivan was born on April 27, 1920 at Glenella, Manitoba. He had served in the Canadian Army in 1939 and 1940. Ivan was employed as a buttermaker in Manitoba and Central Alberta until 1950 when he joined Gulf Oil in Stettler and worked for 17 years as a guager and pipeline inspector. He has resided in the Red Deer area since 1966. More recently, he served with the Canadian Corps of Commissionaires and was in charge of security at the Parkland Mall until December, 1980. Ivan was an avid hunter, fisherman and sports enthusiast. He is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie of Blackfalds; one daughter, Karen Hummel and her husband Albert of Stettler; one son Douglas and his wife Sandra of Calgary; three grandsons, Mark Hummel, Shawn Hosler and Brian Hosler, one granddaughter, Nina Hummel; his father, Charles Hosler of Leduc; three sisters, Rosaline McLean of Abbotsford, B.C., Marion Allison of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Helen Hall of Killarney, Manitoba; four brothers, Russell of High Bluff, Manitoba, Jim and Wesley of Winnipeg and Earl of Leduc; as well as many friends and relatives. he was predeceased by his mother, Elizabeth in October, 1981. Funeral services will be held from Eventide Funeral Chapel, Red Deer, on Tuesday, February 26, 1985 at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Albert Collier officiating. If friends desire memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 507 Professional Building, Red Deer; or the Canadian Diabetes Association, Box 351 Red Deer.
