[edit] Obituary 1"William Elmer Hintz, 58, of 380 Eagle Pointe Road, Cassopolis, died at 2:20 AM today Memorial hospital. He was ill six months. He retired from the Bendix Corp. in 1964. He was born on June 15, 1920, in South Bend and lived in the area most of his life. On December 3, 1948, he married Bernadine Gunyon in South Bend. She survived with a daughter, Mrs. Richard Widmann of Fort Wayne; a son, William R. of Cassopolis; a brother, Richard W. of Lakeville, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Hintz of South Bend. Services will be at 10 AM Monday in the Welshimer funeral home, 521 North William, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM Sunday. Rev. Michael Schultz, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cassopolis, of which he was a member, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Hintz was a veteran of World War II. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society; to St. Paul's Church, or to the Cass County Medical Care Facility."
