Obituary

"Richard W. Hintz, 82, of Fredericksburg Court, South Bend, Indiana, died following an illness at 12:50 PM on Friday, July 2, in his residence.

Mr. Hintz was born on February 8, 1917, in South Bend, to William and Lillian [Wells] Hintz and lived in the South Bend -- Lakeville area all his life. On October 8, 1942, in North Judson, Indiana, he married Geraldine M. Lippelt, who survives.

He is also survived by two daughters, Ann Lautensleger of South Bend and Sue Hintz -- Siegrist of Boulder, Colorado; three grandchildren, James Lautensleger of Dayton, Ohio, Jason Lautensleger of Eaton, Ohio, and Jonathan Siegrist of Boulder; and by one great-grandson, Gunter Lautensleger of Eaton.

He was preceded in death by a brother, William E. Hintz in 1978.

Mr. Hintz retired in 1979 as a senior accountants with a former Bendix Corp. after 26 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Bendix Retired Employees Club.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM on Tuesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, South Bend, with Rev. Stephen Resner of Calvary Lutheran Church, Plymouth, Indiana, officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery."
