William M and his son Norton died instantly on 26 Jul 1913 when their buggy was hit by a train at a railroad crossing of the Rome, Watertown and Ogdensburg railroad in Ontario, NY. They were on their way to the Rochester & Sodus Bay Trolley so Norton and a few of his friends could go to see a baseball game in Rochester, NY. Rev. Stewart of the Baptist Church officiated at the double funeral.
