  1. ↑ William is sometimes given a DOD of before 1729, with the statement made that he "died young". This may not be correct. A "William" is listed in his fathers importation oath of 1739, and also in his will of 1740. Some interpret this to indicate that there was an early son William who died young, and the name was recycled. Evidence is needed for the existence of the earlier William Givens. See Person:Samuel Givens (3) for will.
