"The records for another William Fuller, who resided for a few years at Concord, have by some writers been incorrectly commingled with those of the subject of this sketch. On 4 June 1639, 'Willi[|am] Fuller, which kept the mill at Concord, was fined £3 for gross abuse in overtolling' |MBCR 1:267]. By wife Elizabeth he had daughter Hannah born at Concord on 8 August 1641 [CoVR 2]; Elizabeth died at Concord 24 July 1642 [CoVR 2]."^[1]

   ORIGIN: Unknown [The Will of William Fuller, locksmith, Chelmsford, Co. Essex, establishes that place as the origin of William and John Fuller; Anderson apparently was not aware of the will while editing this volume].
   OCCUPATION: Gunsmith [MBCR 1:197]. Locksmith [NLR 1:4]. On 30 March 1647, "John Legate, in behalf of Samuel Fogg, his kinsman," sued "Will[iam] Fullar of Hampton, for not teaching him the trade of a locksmith. He had four years longer to serve. To be bound for the remainder of his time to Isaack Cosen, an expert smith, of Rowley" [EQC 1:111, 128].
   CHURCH MEMBERSHIP: Admission to Hampton church by 2 June 1641 implied by freemanship.
   FREEMAN: 2 June 1641 [MBCR 1:379] (unless this was for the Concord man).
   BIRTH: About 1610 (aged 25 in 1635 [Hotten 73]).
   DEATH: Hampton 26 May 1693 (as "Old William Fuller" [HampVR 1:118].

Liv. at Ipsw. on his 4 a. lot at the west end of Heart Break hill. Soldier in Pequot war. In 1639 he kept the mill. Freeman 2 June 1641. Given Hampton gr. in 1640. Gr.j. 1641, 1663, 1664, 1669, 1672, 1675-1678. Selectm. 9 yrs. 1644-1677. Rep. 1661, 1667. … In 1663 the Court was held at his house. His w. Elizabeth d. 24 July 1642; 2d [That Elizabeth Fuller was wife of John of Concord; see published Concord VR, 2] w. Frances d. 14 Dec. 1699, ag. 'above 80.' … His d. Hannah, b. 8 Aug. 1641, must have d.y. [That Hannah Fuller was daughter of John of Concord; see published Concord VR, 2]. He d. 26 May 1693. See int. will, 18 Mar. 1690-1, naming relations and others. He had already deeded lands to his nephews, William and w. Susannah in 1681, John in 1683.

   William (Fuller), Ipswich 1635, came that yr. in the Abigail, aged 25, with John, perhaps his br. aged 15, may have had w. Frances, rem. 1639 to Hampton, rep. 1661 and 7, d. 26 May 1693. William (Fuller), Concord, appoint. gunsmith May 1637, to accomp. the troops against the Pequots; was a miller there 1639; had Hannah, b. 8 Aug. 1641; and his w. Elizabeth d. 24 July foll. Possib. he was freem. 2 June 1641.

4. ↑ The fact that William Fuller was a locksmith and gunsmith supports the conclusion that he and his brother John were sons of William Fuller, locksmith of Chelmsford, Co. Essex.
