Advisory on William Crockett

This William Crockett has been mis-identified by some researchers as the William Crockett that married Agnes Ritchie (b. abt. 1726) on several internet genealogy sites, but that Agnes Ritchie would have been much too young to have married this William Crockett and had a child (David Crockett) in 1727.

The William Crockett that married Agnes Ritchie was a different (and younger) William Crockett. More research is necessary to determine the wife of this William Crockett. One source lists his wife as Eliza Boulay, but it appears that Eliza Boulay married William's brother, John Crockett. Other sources list this William's wife as either Martha (surname unknown), Hannah (possibly Wilson), or Mary Ann King.

More research is necessary on this family.
