Poeter & Moss both say this William is the one who married widow Harrington/[Etherington] and then Martha Hooper. His death in 1767 however precludes those marriages which occurred in 1782 and c 1790 and his probate papers give his wifes name as Alethea. Alethea married second by 1767 Peter Vansant. The identities of the William Comegys who married Elizabeth Ethington and the William Comegys who married Martha Hoper is unresolved.
