William G. is found in the "Berne, NY - Family Files" www.bernehistory.org along with wife Mildred (Elze) with one child, a dau Jessie. He is also found on the site "Find a Grave" with a good biography: "The Rev. William Gibson Boomhower, D.D. (January 15,1891-1974). His first church was St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Wurtemburg, Rhinebeck, New York. He served here from July 5, 1914- July 1, 1916. He graduated from Hartwick Seminary in 1914. In 1928 he was awarded an honary Doctor of Divinity Degree from Harwick College. He served congregations in Jersey City, NJ; Philadephia, PA.; Oneonta, NY; Brooklyn, NY; and Cobleskill, NY. Burial: Cobleskill Rural Cemetery; Cobleskill, Schoharie Co.,New York, USA Plot: The New Section" Attention must be called to the fact that he was a pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wurtemburg. This church was the one that was built on land obtained by Jacob Baumhauer's first father-in-law, Eberhard Weegar/Wager from Col. Henry Beekman. A coincidence, or did he request this assignment, knowing its history? In the 1910 census, when he was 19 he was living with Frank, Ada and three of his siblings in Berne, Albany, NY. At 29 he appeared in the 1920 census for Newark, Essex, NJ along with mother Ada, 49, a widow. William was single. In 1930 he appeared in the census for Jersey City, Hudson, NJ with wife Mildred E. 30 and dau Jessie, 8. They had been married about 10 years. On the Wurtemburg Lutheran Church site http://www.stpaulswurtemburg.org/clergy.html we find in the list of pastors: "Rev. William Gibson Boomhower, July 5, 1914- July 1, 1916, (Hartwick Seminary,1914)" He was also apparently the pastor at one time of the Gilead Lutheran Church in Center Brunswick as the obituary of Mrs. Irving Hayner, abt 1956, notes: "Rev. William G. Boomhower, pastor of Gilead Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will take place in Oakwood Cemetery." He is also noted in the Nov. 9, 1956 issue of the Altamont Weekly as officiating at the funeral of Rev. Wilson D. Worman: "...and Rev. Dr. William G. Boomhower, of the Gilead Lutheran Church, Center Brunswick, officiated."
