He is buried at the Concord Presbyterian Cemetery, Auxvasse, Callaway Co., Mo. His wife was Mary A. Ellis who was born 20 March 1820 and died 22 March 1895. They had two children: 1. Alcesta 'Cessie' ... and Dr. Cephalus ..." Her sources were "Ancestors of Samuel Black," by Rev. John Robert Black and Mr. Theophilus Dunn, Rt. 1, Auxvasse, Mo.
