Wendel Poh and his family arrived at Philadelphia on the Ship "William" on October 31, 1737. His name was spelled "Bohn" and "Bon" on the ship list. His wife was Mary (probably Anna Maria). Their two daughters were married at Muddy Creek Lutheran & Reformed Church, East Cocalico Township, Lancaster Co., PA. Anna Maria Catarina Boin married Jacob Halteman on May 13, 1740. Her sister, Anna Margaretha Pohm married Joh. Christoph Schupp (Shoop) on August 16, 1742.

The records of Muddy Creek Lutheran & Reformed Church (translated by Hinkle and Weiser, 1981) shows that 3 of Jacob Halteman's children were baptized there:
    (1) Joh. Jacob Halteman, born July 31, 1743, with sponsors
Christoph Schupp and wife (Jacob's sister-in-law and her husband). (2) Johannes Halteman, born October 26, 1745, with sponsors John George Schupp, Sr., and Jr., and Margaretha Chagrin. (3) George Daniel Halteman, born Feb. 12, 1748, with sponsors George Schupp, Jr., & Margaretha Chagrin. The records of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lancaster, PA show that George Daniel Haldeman, son of Jacob and Catharine Haldeman, died on Sept. 30, 1748 and was buried October 2, 1748.

Later, Wendel and Mary Poh and their daughter, Margaret, and son-in-law, Christopher Schupp, moved to Derry Township, Lancaster Co. (now Dauphin Co.), PA. They attended Hill Lutheran Church (Sand Hill Church) in Derry Township. Wendel Poh died in 1768. An abstract of his will in Lancaster County (dated Nov. 23, 1767 and filed March 13, 1768) does not specifically name his daughters, but provides the names of his sons-in-law, Christopher Shub/Shaub (Schupp) and ______ Halteman, and three grandchildren: Jacob, Christian, & Adam Halteman. (I need to obtain a copy of this will.)

Which Jacob Halteman is Anna Maria Catarina's husband? Who were their other children, and are their births/baptisms recorded in other churches? Where did Jacob and Catharine live in Lancaster County? I understand that it is generally thought that Anna Maria Catarina married Jacob Halteman, son of Christian Halteman, and that Jacob and his family accompanied Christian's family to Virginia, where Jacob's wife and some of their children were killed by Indians in 1758.
