Washington was born in St. Clair Co., IL during the time David and Sarah lived there. He is listed on the 1850 Gwinnett Co., GA census with wife Adaline and daughter Mary E. age 1. In 1860 he is listed in Calhoun Co., AL, living near his mother and siblings. Shortly after this census was taken, Washington and Adaline moved back to GA, to Forsyth County.

Forsyth Co., GA, age 23, Father's name: Washington Driskell, dec'd. Mother's maiden name: Aellin Hensin (sic) Bride: Mary White of Forsyth Co., GA, age 17, born Anderson Co., SC to James Taylor White and Lucinda (Elrod) White. Date of marriage: 12/1/1878
