Will of Wedsworth Wilson, 1799, Proved 1802
In the name of God Amen, I Wadsworth Wilson of Montgomery County and state of Maryland being of sound and disposing mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same. Do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say I Commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it hoping through the mediation of my Blessed Redeemer Jesus Christ to obtain full remission of my manifold transgressions and my body to the grave to be decently interred at the discretion of my executor hereafter named. And as for the Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me I dispose thereof as follows.
First I give and bequeath unto my son Leven Wilson during the natural life of my loving wife Eleanor Willson(sic) all my Estate both Real and Personal for the support of my said wife and son in a frugal and genteel manner during my said wifes natural life as aforesaid. And at the decease of my said loving wife I give and bequeath unto my said son Leven Wilson his heirs and Assigns forever all the lands which now belong to me lying and being in Montgomery County aforesaid with the Appurtenances thereunto belonging and all and every stock of every description, Plantation Utensils Household and Kitchen furniture of every kind and suiture save and except as hereafter bequeathed.
Also I give and bequeath unto my said son Leven my negroe man Beckwith and my negro boy Tom to him the said Leven his heirs and Assigns.
Item I give and bequeath unto my son James Willson (sic) his heirs and assigns my negroe man George and my Negroe girl Sarah, my Riding horse, Saddle and bridle and all my Wearing apparel.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Frances Shepherd during her natural life my Negroe boy Sam and at her decease I give and bequeath the said Negroe unto my Grandson Wadsworth Wilson Shepherd his heirs and assigns.
Also I give and bequeath unto my said Daughter Frances One feather bed and furniture.
I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Mary Burns her heirs and assigns one feather Bed and furniture my Negroe man Pompey and my Negroe boy Benjamin.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Eleanor Shepherd one feather bed and furniture my negroe woman Jane and and a Negroe boy Jim to her the said Eleanor her heirs and assigns.
Item I give and bequeath grandson Wilson Burns--------------------------------- Daughter Eleanor Burns my Negroe girl Judy.
Item I give and bequeath unto my Grandson Wadsworth Wilson son of James Wilson my Negroe girl Phillis to him his heirs and assigns.
Lastly after (said?) debts ----- bequests and funeral charges are paid I give and bequeath unto my said son Leven Wilson his heirs and assigns all the rest and residue and remainder of my estate not hereby bequeathed.
And I do hereby nominate and Appoint my said son Leven Wilson Sole Executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former and other wills by me made Ratifying and confirming this only as and for my last Will and Testament.

Signed Sealed published and Declared asured for the last Will and Testament of Wadsworth Wilson at whose request and in his presence and in the presence of each other we have subscribed our names as Witnesses hereto.

Montgomery County-- On the Twenty third Day of December One Thousand Eight hundred and two Then Came John Harwood and Hugh S. Dunn two of the subscribing witnesses to the within last will and Testament of Wadsworth Wilson late of said County deceased and severally made oath on the holy Evangels of Almighty God that they did see the testator herein named sign and seal this will and that they heard publish pronounce and declare the same to be his last Will and Testament That at the time of his ----oing he was to the best of their apprehension of sound and disposing mind memory and understanding and that they and John Beard the other witness subscribed their names ------esto this will in the presence and at the request of the Testator and in the presence of each other.
