erda Irene Arbogast, 84, a former resident of Valley Head, and for the past two years a resident of Horse Shoe Run, died at 10;30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25, in the Garrett County Memorial Hospital, in Oakland, MD.

She was born March 13, 1901, in Valley Head, a daughter of the late John R. and Melissa Wamsley Swecker.
On Sept. 5, 1919 in Oakland,MD. she was united in marriage to Amos Ross Arbogast, who survives at Horse Shoe Run.
Also surviving are four daughters, Jewell Michaels, of North Miami Beach, Fl., Mary Brown, Horse Shoe Run, Marilyn Waybright, Akron, Ohio, Carol Riffle, Garrettsville, Ohio; four sisters, Mabel Channell, Valley Head, Gladys Sharp, Timberville Va.,Flora Wood, Elkins, and Della Dumbrack, Georgia; two brothers, Herbert and Darius Swecker both of Buckhannon; 24 grandchildren, 2 foster grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were one daughter, Maxine Wood; two sons, Donald M and Eugene C Arbogast, one sister, Bertha Hamilton and two brothers, Junior and Clarence Swecker.
Mrs. Arbogast attended the schools of Randolph County , and was a school teacher at the Swecker Ridge School and also at the Marple School House. She was a homemaker and had attended the Conley Run Community Church
