BURLINGTON - Mr. Vance Harrison Shoffner, 73, of 3665 Clapp Mill Road died Saturday, Oct. 25, 1997, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill after a short illness.

A native of Alamance County, he was the son of Mr. Burton L. Shoffner and Mrs.. Mary Bailiff Shoffner, both deceased. He worked for Walden Saw Mill Co. and was a member of Low's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a sister, Mrs.. Blanche Vance of Burlington; and a brother, Mr. Billy Joe Shoffner of the home.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mrs.. Mary Ruth Isley and Mrs.. Margaret Reitzel; and three brothers, Mr. Colon Shoffner, Mr. Lucian Shoffner and Mr. Burton Luther Shoffner Jr..

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Low's Lutheran Church cemetery by the Rev. Alvin Horne, pastor of Friendship United Methodist Church.

The family will be at Lowe Funeral Home from noon to 1:30 p.m. Monday, and at other times at the home.
