Greensboro News & Record (NC) - June 17, 1995 Deceased Name: MARY ISLEY BURLINGTON - Mrs. Mary Ruth Shoffner Isley, 79, of 4240 Friendship Rock Creek Road died Friday, June 16, 1995, at her residence.

Born in Alamance County to the late Burton L. Shoffner and the late Mary Elizabeth Bayliff Shoffner, she was the wife of the late Eugene Martin Isley who died Feb. 17, 1987. She was a member of the United Methodist Women.

Funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Friendship United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Alvin Horne, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Survivors include daughters, Ms. Anne Pope, Mrs. Bill M. (Jean) Crumpton, Mrs. John C. (Helen) Shaw and Mrs. David V. (Janet) Lassiter; sister, Mrs. Blanche S. Vance; brothers, Mr. Vance Harrison Shoffner and Mr. Billy Joe Shoffner, all of Burlington; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by brothers, Lucan Shoffner, Colon Shoffner and B.L. Shoffner Jr.; and by a sister, Margaret S. Reitzel.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. tonight at Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington and other times at the residence. Mrs. Isley will lie in state at the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
