On the 1850 census, age 18, with parents in Marion Twp., Hocking Co., Oh.[p 841, fam #118/120] Found on the 1860 census, age 26 , farmer, with wife Phebe, age 25, and first four children, Marion Twp., Hocking Co., Oh.[p 1 49 fam #913/901] Tobias, ae 32, enlisted in the Civil War 8 June 1864, as a private in "K Co., 110th Inf Reg., Oh.., mustered out at Washington, DC on 25 June 1865.(Official Roster of the Soldiers of the State of Ohio.) We continue to see Tobias, now 38, and Phebe, 36, in Marion Twp. in 1870. Th ey have $800 in real property value and $200 in personal property. With them are children An na through Lydia.[p 511, fam #277/280] On the 1880 census for Marion Twp., Tobias, 48, and w ife Phebe, age 48, have eight children.[p 109C fam #244/247] Tobias died 8 Feb 1882 in Marion , Hocking Co., Oh. of consumption.[HVRD, book 1, record #2218.]. His death record states he "liv ed and died in Marion Twp., Hocking Co., Oh." Phebe died 6 Feb 1888 in Hocking Co., Oh.[HVRD , book 2]
