Thomas was living with his parents in 1880, age 31, single. A Thomas Wheeler m. 10 Nov 1892 in Scioto County to Joanna Pyles. But they haven't been found in the 1900 census to confirm ages, etc., so it is not known if this was him. A Thomas Wheeler of about the right age is found in the Scioto County Infirmary in the 1930 census and died as a widower 31 Jan 1931 but the death record does not give enough information to know if this is the same man. Census records after 1880 and before 1930 haven't been located.
