  3.   The Skaggs family settled at a very date between Knobs and Patrick's Peaks, a projection of Wolf Creek Mountian. Wolf Creek goes to the west and compels it to meet Greenbrier River 2 miles south of Alderson. The part of Greenbrier County that became Monroe County in 1799.The Skaggs were Germans.

    Richard Skaggs, his son, sued William Morris and a jury was called August 27, 1789 - then Richard was ordered to pay Thomas and John Skaggs 125 lbs of tobacco each for 5 days of attendance as witnesses against William Morris Jr.
