    [This transcription, done from the original, starts with an introduction pointing out several errors in Dr. Shurtleff's transcription. Chief among them was that Dr. Shurtleff assigned the wrong year to several records, 1647, when comparison with independent sources, and assuming a consistent layout of the records (Plymouth always the first town recorded in any given year), 1648 was clearly the correct year (not to mention the resultant absence of any Plymouth birth in 1648 if Dr. Shurtleff's assumption is followed).
