Elvus states" Burial at Salem Baptist Church."

DAVIS E. NIX (OBIT) Greenville- Davis Elijah Nix, 72, retired farmer, of 120 Judson Road, Greenville, Died Wednesday. Born in Oconee County, a son of the late E.D. and Mattie Edney Nix. He was a farmer in Pickens County before he moved to Greenville seven years ago. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church and of the Men's Bible Class of the SundaySchool. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Callas Nix; four sons, W. Lawrence Nix of Pickens, Lloyd M. Nix of Greenville, D. Elijah Nix, Jr., of Columbia, and Frank Horace Nix of Easley; four sisters, Mrs Lude Mauldin, Mrs. Ann Pearson and Mrs. Grace Pearson of Seneca' three brothers, John Nix of Seneca, Sim Nix of Walhalla and Asa Nix of West Union, and 13 Grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1;30 p.m. Friday at Westview Baptist Church by Revs. Eugene A. Power and Dewey Lewis, with burial in Graceland Cemetery.

Thos. Monore Nix, a son of Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Nix, of Oconee, died at Camp Sivier, Greenville, last Sundy from influenza. Mr. Nix was a young man of fine parts, and went to the service of his country willingly and galadly, with the full determination to make as good a soldier as any of his comrades. Mr. and Mrs. Nix have given three sons to the service, two being now with the American Expeditionary Forces in Europe. We join with other friends of the bereaved parents and family in extending sympatry to them in the loss of this son and brother. Mr and Mrs. Nix are also caring for a little child, the infant of James Louis Mauldin, now in army service overseas. Mr and Mrs. Nix have never murmured or complainad at the giving up of their sons for service of their countary, being willing and glad that they were ready each to do a man's part when America's call came for her salwart sons to fight for freedom. These two good people are peculiarly blessed in their sons, both in life and in death.

Note, this is the second newspaper article to list him as E.E. ?? Is it possible that Alexander, could sound like an E. to a news reporter? maybe, if he was from the South!
