A native of Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Archie and Emma Sloan Towe. Survivors: Sons, Bill and Ron Nix, both of Walhalla, and Don Nix of Salem; daughters, Evelyn Miller and Dot Barrett, both of Salem, and Ann Moore of Walhalla; a brother, Louis Towe, of Walhalla; 21 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today at Davenport Funeral Home. Service: 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral chapel. Burial: Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Family: Respective homes.

DAVIS E. NIX (OBIT) Greenville- Davis Elijah Nix, 72, retired farmer, of 120 Judson Road, Greenville, Died Wednesday. Born in Oconee County, a son of the late E.D. and Mattie Edney Nix. He was a farmer in Pickens County before he moved to Greenville seven years ago. He was a member of Westview Baptist Church and of the Men's Bible Class of the SundaySchool. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Callas Nix; four sons, W. Lawrence Nix of Pickens, Lloyd M. Nix of Greenville, D. Elijah Nix, Jr., of Columbia, and Frank Horace Nix of Easley; four sisters, Mrs Lude Mauldin, Mrs. Ann Pearson and Mrs. Grace Pearson of Seneca' three brothers, John Nix of Seneca, Sim Nix of Walhalla and Asa Nix of West Union, and 13 Grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1;30 p.m. Friday at Westview Baptist Church by Revs. Eugene A. Power and Dewey Lewis, with burial in Graceland Cemetery.
