The will of Thomas Meades dated 29 January 1716/7, probated 21 January 1717, mentioned a "brother-in-law", John Sallis.

    Thomas inherited the 500 acres on Peumansend Creek from his father, John Meador, eventually sold it to Job Virgett (his half-brother) and Josiah Shipp, a relative of his mother's. Richard, Thomas and Josiah Shipp were named as legatees in in will. John Sallis is named as Thomas' brother-in-law.
