Personal History

Thomas Hussey,[3] Esq., (second) son of Thomas Hussey Esq. by Rhoda[3] (Chapman) (and grandson of Sir Edward Hussey Knt. and Bt.), was baptized on 14 January 1638/9 in the parish of Honington, Lincolnshire, England.[3]

From the death of his father in March 1641, Thomas became heir-apparent of his grandfather, and upon the death of his grandfather on 22 March 1648, Thomas succeeded to the Baronetcy (2nd, created 1611) of England.

On 20 February 1660/1, a licence was issued for Sir Thomas Hussey Bt. (bachelor) of Doddington, Lincolnshire, and Sarah Langham (spinster, age 21), with the consent of her father Sir John Langham Bt. of Cottesbrook, Northamptonshire, to be married at Great St Helen's, London. They were married by the Rev. Sanderson, Bishop of Lincoln, on 21 February 1660[/1] in the parish of St Helen Bishopsgate, City of London.

Sir Thomas Hussey, 2nd Baronet (1639 – 19 December 1706), of Honington, Lincolnshire, was an English Member of Parliament.

He was the eldest surviving son of Thomas Hussey of Honington and was educated privately and at Christ's College, Cambridge (1655). He succeeded his father before 1641 and succeeded his grandfather as 2nd Baronet in 1648. He was appointed High Sheriff of Lincolnshire for 1668–69.

He was elected a Member (MP) of the Parliament of England for Lincoln in 1681 and Lincolnshire in 1685, 1689, 1690 and 1695.

He married Sarah, the daughter of Sir John Langham, 1st Baronet, of Crosby Place, London and Cottesbrooke, Northamptonshire, with whom he had six sons and four daughters.
