About Thomas Henderson

According to Hampshire County, [West] Virginia records, Thomas Henderson was "living in adultery" with Thomas Henderson prior to 19 Nov. 1798:

Hampshire County, Virginia (now West Virginia); Volume 1 - Minute Book Abstracts 1788-1802, Section III, 1798-1799:
19 Nov 1798 - Thomas Henderson for living in adultery with Nancy Day.

Nancy was apparently previously married to Ammery Day.

Thomas Henderson of Hampshire County, [West] Virginia died 1818 in Hampshire County. He named in his will, all three sons of Nancy Brown's prior relationship with Ammery Day, calling each of them "my son" and "son of Nancy Day" and leaving them substantial portions of his estate. He also named his "son" Larkin Day to be the Executor of his Last Will and Testament. Perhaps the most curious thing about the will of Thomas Henderson is that the father of Nancy's children, Ammery Day [spelled "Amray" in the will], was one of the witnesses of his will, along with Adam Brown and David Brown, siblngs of Nancy Brown. Thomas's will was written 6 November 1815 and does NOT name Nancy [Brown] Day/Henderson, indicating that she may have died sometime prior to the writing of his will.

Thomas Henderson also refers to his "son John Grant" in his will and it is unclear who the mother of this John Grant may be....
