  2. 2.0 2.1 The will of Thomas Gould Sr. of Sutton shows that Thomas was his son, as he names all of Thomas' children. However, Source:Benedict, William Addison. History of the Town of Sutton, Massachusetts, from 1704 to 1876, says that the relationship of the older Thomas to other Gould immigrants can't be ascertained, meaning it is not known where he came from, apparently bringing his son Thomas with him. The father m. in Sutton, in 1746, Hannah (Bucknam) Marsties/Masters, but no death record for his first wife is found, so more evidence is needed to tell who was the mother of the son Thomas. Based on the son's marriage in 1745, the son was probably born in the early 1720s.
