Our Bailey line started out as far as I can tell with Thomas Bailey. This is not proven and most of the informatino on this family was found in census records, cemetery records, and some obituaries. As for Thomas, I found a will for Thomas Bailey in Fountain Co. It had very little information it, but I think from some other records that this the first Bailey ancestor in Indiana. I also found some records (marraige from Fleming Co, KY) where they supposedly came from. I found one for a John Baily and Barsheba Bowen, but I can't prove that they are ours. However with records that far back it is possible that he could have been John Thomas bailey. The reason for this is that my proven Ancestor had a daughter (Barsheba Elvira Bailey). Reflect on the similarities of the names.
