Listed in 1880 under Bonar as 14 years old as a servant and named as Lankaster, Selvy. His parents are assumed dead at that time. His older brother David is listed in that census with another Bonar family as a Laborer. No death certificate can be found of his parents.

Census 1900, Meade District Marshall Co. West Virginia Listed as Samuel Sometimes listed as Selba I have a copy of his death certificate and it is listed as Selva. He often used the initials S.S. I have viewed and photographed his tombstone at the Ebenezer Methodist church cemetery.
