Facts and Events

Marriage 30 Nov 1845 Marshall Co, VAto Rebecca Burge
Occupation? Farmer
Death? Bet 1870 and 1880 Marshall, West Virginia, United States

Census 1840,1850, 1860,1870 Reported to be buried in New Bethel but no stone found when looking in 1994 and there is no record found listing death date.

In Judi Kenyon's research she found two more children. John (who I have found listed in the 1850 Census as 10 years old therefore could not be their son.) Also a Daniel born in 1862. He also is not listed in the 1880 Census, and therefore may have died.

Lived in Glen Easton Area, Meade Dist., Marshall Co. West Virginia Served in the Civil War - Pvt. age 35. Mustered in 12/10/1861 and discharged 11/12/1864 Co. L 6th Reg West Virginia Infantry. This is found in the History of Marshall County, West Virginia by Scott Powell. His marriage to Rebecca Burge is listed in Marshall Co. West Virginia Marriage Bk. 1/44. In 1840, 50, 60, and 1970 Census but not after that.

I viewed his tombstone in 2000 and the cemetery had been cleaned and enclosed with a fence. There was still no sign of a tombstone for his wife Rebecca.
