Personal History

Sarah Jane Overton, (first) daughter of John Overton, boiler-smith, by Jane[3] Cooper,[1] was born on 4 April 1867 (or 6 April[3]) at 6 Cross Monkton Street, Hunslet, Yorkshire; the birth was registered in the district of Hunslet by her mother on 18 April.[1] The family later moved to 1 Fenton Terrace in Lincoln.[2][3] Sarah was baptized in a private ceremony on 21 October 1867 in the parish of St Swithin.[3] She died at home shortly after on 23 October of convulsions; the death was registered on the same day by Alice Chelley of 28 Abbey Terrace, Lincoln, who was “present at death”.[2]
