    OBITUARY
Died, at the Glebe in the county of Amherst, on the 22ult. Mrs. SARAH PENN,
relict of Colonel Gabriel Penn, an officer in the Revolution. This amiable lady, had been for some time indisposed--she bore her affliction with that
fortitude and patience, springing from an unshaken reliance on the protection and mercy of her beneficent Creator-- She hath left a numerous offspring and many feeling friends to lament a blank in their society, which can never be filled up.
In the domestic circle, she was a most affectionate
mother; as a mistress, few excelled her in the indulgence of the finest feelings of humanity, peculiarly designed by nature to receive and import its serene and peaceful enjoyment--she would have been 80 years old next
May.This fate seems to have wound her up for seventy years--yet safely went she on nine winters more--till like a clock, worn out by working time, the wheels of weary life at last stood still.
"Thus falls thy boasted wisdom, mortal man,
" A cloud, its substance and its date a span."
