Information from “Virginia/West Virginia Genealogical Data from Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Records”, Vol. 6, compiled by Patrick G. Wardell, Lt. Col. U.S. Army Ret. :

Wilson, Samuel, entered service 1776 in Rockbridge County, Virginia in Virginia Company; entered service later in Virginia regiment; served at Siege at Yorktown; granted Pension 1832 age 71 in Logan County, Kentucky; older brother mentioned but not named served in Revolutionary War with him; query letter in file states soldier married Hester Lee of Pennsylvania & they moved to Virginia; query letter in file in 1911 from Miss Nellie Wilson, Ft. Smith, Arkansas; query letter in file in 1937 from descendant Mrs. H.C. Nieson, St. Louis, Missouri. F-S11811, R2609.

- Note: the Samuel Wilson that married Hester Lee was a DIFFERENT and younger Samuel than this Samuel Wilson.
