Page 121.--19th November, 1766. Same (From Robert Gay and Sarah) to Samuel Vance, £50 to the said Henry and Gay paid, 180 acres, part of 664 acres above, mouth of Naps Creek. (Note: Naps or "Knaps" Creek is a tributary of the Kanawha River).

Page 211.--11th December, 1768. Joseph King's will (his mark) Eldest son Joseph left in care of wife; children Nicholas and Nelly left to Thomas Hugart; youngest son John left to John Carlile. All to be brought up to the rules of the Church of England. Teste: Saml. Vance, Mary Gregory. Proved, 20th June, 1769, by the witnesses. Administration granted Thos. Hugart, who qualifies with Wm. Hugart, Wm. Kinkead.
