BIOGRAPHY:

A brief biography of Samuel Leonard Seaver was printed in the book "Genealogical Record of the Hodges Family of New England," Third Edition, by Almon D. Hodges, Jr., published by Frank H. Hodges, Boston, 1896, page 265. The biography reads:

"Samuel Leonard Seaver received his education at the Brostol County Academy and the Taunton High School, and then engaged in business with his father. In 1873 he became agent of the Carver Cotton-Gin Company of East Bridgewater, and traveled extensively throguh the Southern States in the interest of his company. His health failed, compelling him to relinquish his position, and he engaged in his former business as a contractor. He belonged to the Masonic Fraternity and was a member of the Old Colony Commandery of Abington, Mass."
