Will Abstract

Will of Samuel Hunter of Augusta County & State of Virginia
First, bequeaths to son John Hunter four hundred acres that be formerly lives or adjoining the lands that was formerly Mrs. Allens & James Bells.
Second, bequeaths to son Sam'l Hunter the plantation I now live on.
Names two younger sons Henry Hunter & William Hunter [when they reach age 21], son Samuel, son William, four grandchildren - children of Andrew Hunter & Matthew Hunter (each having son named Samuel and daughter named Susannah), "youngest son William".
Appoints sons Andrew Hunter & Samuel Hunter Executors.
Dated 6 Feby. 1804.
Wit: Robt. Steele, William Beard, John Shields.
Proven July Term 1813.

    The 1936 W.P.A. Historical Inventory of this cemetery by Scioto M. Herndon (online at Library of Virginia), inventoried his gravestone. It said
    "SAMUEL HUNTER
    d. Apr. 8, 1813
    76 yrs."

    So few are here anymore, it's wonderful this one was found.
    I believe it says:
    SAMUEL HUNTER
    died April 18th day
    1813
    Agd 76 Years
