Sons Samuel and John to be executors.

Vol. 25, p. 269 28 Mar 1727: Distribution of estate of Samuel Holmes late of Dorchester Cordwainer Deceased, cannot be Divided among all his Children without great prejudice, admits of two settlements, to Samuel Holmes & John Holmes, they paying their brothers namely to Ebenezer Holmes Joseph Holmes & Nathaniel Holmes, and more upon the death of their mother Mary Holmes.

Vol. 28, p. 84 27 Mar 1727: Articles of agreement between Mary Holmes of Stoughton Widow of Samuel Holmes Late of Dorchester Viz't that part of Dorchester now Called Stoughton, yeoman Deceased on one part, and Samuel Holmes and John Holmes both of Stoughton aforesaid Yeomen on other part, that said Mary in lieu of her dower shall enjoy east end of his mansion house and 12 acres of land plus 10 feet of barn and other small parcels plus an annuity of 12 shillings.
