(Already transribed, no source): Mr. & Mrs. Sam M. Crum celebrated their 50th anniversary, Sunday, March 30, 1930 with a family dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Crum were united in marriage March 30, 1880 by Rev. D. Russell pastor of the Congregational Church in Mansfield. Mrs. Crum's maiden name was Dora Straub, eldest daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Abraham Straub. Mr. & Mrs. Crum resided near and in Shelby the greater part of their lives. They were the parents of nine children. Those living at the time of the 50th anniversary were Dan, Erwin, Ruth, Florence, Effie and Beulah. Those not living were Elsie, Bertha and Charles. (Obituary already transcribed, no source): Samuel Crum born May 3, 1858 in a log cabin on a farm in Vernon Twp. Crawford Co. Ohio. He died Sunday morning March 5, 1950, aged 91 years, 10 months and 2 days. He had been ill with heart ailment since Nov. The son of Jacob Crum and Susan Nazor Crum he was married to Dora Straub in 1880 and lived most of his life in Auburn Twp. When he retired from farming he moved to Shelby and lived there until the death of his wife in May, 1934. He was the father of nine children. He had three brothers and three sisters, all of whom preceded him in death. Was a faithful member of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Shelby. When he went to live in Cleveland, seven years ago, he transferred his membership to the Hougg Ave. Eva. Reformed Church of which he was a faithful member until his death. The services were conducted at the Reformed Church of Shelby. Rev. Donald Voelm, pastor of the Hugh Ave. Church and Rev. Harlan Miller of the Shelby Church. Interment in Oakland Cemetery, Shelby, Ohio. The six grandchildren were pallbearers. Image Gallery
